Jamaica’s Olympic 100m Silver medallist Kishane Thompson and American Olympic 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell, headline a list of athletes confirmed for the seventh staging of the Racers Grand Prix set for the National Stadium on Saturday June 7.
Thompson will face the likes Oblique Seville who won last year’s 100m and British record holder Zharnel Hughes in the Blue Ribbon event.
Russell will face world record holder Tobi Amusan among others in the 100m hurdles.
Other big names confirmed for the meet, 400m world champion Antonio Watson, Long Jump World and Olympic Silver medallist Wayne Pinnock, the Clayton twins Tea and Tina and Bryan Levell.
CEO of Racers Grand Prix Devon Blake says they are confident they’ve got the names to do the trick.
Blake says a lot of emphasis will be placed on making the event spectator friendly.

The meet will have 11 events including all three short sprints, along with the 400m men’s and women’s hurdles and the men’s and women’s sprint hurdles.
Spectators will have a chance at free admission to the bleachers if they sign up on the Racers webpage from May 1 to May 31. Starting June 1 the cost of admission to the bleachers will be $1,000.
Grand stand finish line tickets will be $5,000 and regular grand stand admission will cost $3,000.
Sports Minister Olivia Grange announced that her ministry, through the Sports Development Foundation, has pledged $10 million towards the staging of the meet.
