The Trinbago Knight Riders handed the Barbados Royals their first defeat of the season with a 4-wicket win in the Massy T20 Women Caribbean Premier League at the Brian Lara Stadium, last night.
Batting first, the Royals made 130 for 7 off their 50-overs.
Chamari Athapaththu led the batting with 70, while Rashada Williams 12 and Qiana Joseph 11 were the only other players to reach double figures.
Shikha Pandey, Shamilia Connell and Samara Ramnath took two wickets each.
Set 131 to win, the Knight Riders had to recover from 43 for 3 to reache the target with two balls to spare.
Jemimah Rodrigues stared with the bat with 59 from 50-balls.
Kycia Knight made 17, Chedean Nation 14, captain Deandra Dottin 12 and Jess Jonassen 11.
Final scores, Barbados Royals 130 for 7, Trinbago Knight Riders 131 for 6.
Both teams will renew rivalry in the final on Thursday at the same venue.
