At some point over the last year or so, Reggae lovers around the world—especially in Jamaica—might have had one question in common: “Where is Koffee?” Well, good news! The Toast singer has revealed that she’s been working on a fresh body of work.
“I have a new album coming out soon,” she told Reggae Interviews at the Reggae Land Festival in England recently.
She was tight-lipped about possible collaborations but did say that the album—which also remained unnamed—would be released in early 2025.
The project will follow her 2022 debut, Gifted, which reached at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and was later nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album that year.
Her Rapture EP, which had won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2020, debuted at No. 1 on the same chart.
Koffee said she has managed to maintain composure despite the pressure of the industry and from her fans, particularly after copping a Grammy Award at such a young age.
“I don’t think I accept the pressure, but naturally, it kinda would because you want to keep your music to a certain standard and meet people’s expectations ‘cause music is a service,” she said.
Koffee had a vibrant set at the well-attended Reggae Land Festival. She performed favorites like Lockdown, Toast, and Rapture.
And, she enjoyed being on stage as much as the audience enjoyed having her.
“It was a good vibe out there. I realize the crowd was singing and enjoying themselves and that makes me feel good. That’s what we came here to do,” she said.
