“Humble and kind!”
That’s how Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he’ll remember Christopher Townsend, former councillor for the Olympic Gardens division in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
The prime minister was speaking at Townsend’s funeral service held at Beulah Pentecostal Temple on Olympic Way in Kingston on Saturday.
Townsend passed away on Wednesday, November 14 from what is believed to be natural causes.
He was victorious in the February 26 local government elections, defeating the People’s National Party’s Ruthlyn Stoner-Haughton by 1,098 votes to win the Olympic Gardens division for the Jamaica Labour Party.
The prime minister credited Townsend for his service to residents of Olympic Gardens.
