English champions Manchester City survived a huge scare today to book their spot in the round of 16 in the European Champions League.

The Citizens who came into the final day of group play flirting with elimination, came from behind to beat Club Brugge 3-1 at the Etihad to finish 22nd and set up a last 16 clash against either champions Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

Premier League high flyer Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the campaign, they lost 3-2 at PSV Eindhoven but still topped the table.

Barcelona finished second after a 2-all draw at home with Atalanta, Bayern Munich beat Slovan Bratislava 3-1, Lautora Martinez bagged a hatrick in Inter-Milan’s 3-nil win over ASMonaco, Aston Villa bagged are also through thanks to a 4-2 win over Celtic at Villa Park.
