MANCHESTER HIGH School’s netballers were in a no-nonsense mood on Tuesday in their ISSA Rural netball encounters at home against Winston Jones High.
The central Jamaica high school, rural junior champions last year, picked up their second consecutive win of the season with a 52-0 blowout before their senior team enjoyed an 89-3 demolition of the same team.
Winning coach Simone Smith said her teams have been putting in some very hard work and was not surprised about the margins of victory.
“Manchester High teams have been working hard and putting in the necessary work to remain among the top contenders in the island,” said Smith.
“The junior team is a blend of experience but not as experienced as the team that won the title last year. Playing against Winston Jones, who are re-entering the competition with limited experience, the teams were given specific targets to challenge themselves. The game was an opportunity to make adjustments and focus on reducing turnovers. While they met their objectives, there are still areas that require improvement despite the final scores,” said Smith.
