An early morning shooting in Matelot claimed the life of a villager. The deceased, a 35-year-old fisherman known as “Bling Dog,” was found at the bottom of a 35-foot precipice on Cemetery Street.
Officers responded to reports of loud explosions around 4 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim’s lifeless body with gunshot wounds. Police suspect the motive for the killing is drug-related.
The District Medical Officer examined the body and ordered its removal for a post-mortem at the Forensic Science Centre in St. James.
Homicide officers are continuing the investigation.
