McLaren Prioritises Worldcup After Nation League Exit

National senior men’s football team coach Steve McLaren admits that the United States is very difficult to defeat at home, but believes Jamaica was exposed due to poor defending and a failure to protect the football.

McLaren was reacting to lastnight’s 4-2 defeat in the second leg quarter-final of the Concacaf Nations League to the Americans in St. Louis Missouri.

The defeat dumped the Reggaeboyz from the tournament and sent the U.S through to the semi-finals 5-2 on aggregate.

Panama is also into the semifinals after playing to a 2-all draw with Costa Rica to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

The last two semifinal spots will be filled this evening after Canada with a 1-nil first leg lead, host Suriname and Honduras travel to the Azteca in Mexico City with a 2-nil lead over Mexico.
