Defeated independent candidate in the North East St. Ann by-election, David Fritz Anderson, is suggesting that he was the victim of political sabotage.
Mr. Anderson, also known as ‘Five Pound’, polled 222 votes or 4 per cent of just over 5,000 ballots that were cast.
The Jamaica Labour Party’s Matthew Samuda secured 95 per cent of ballots, 4,838 votes. The candidate for the United Independents’ Congress, Chase Neil received 30 votes, 1 per cent of the total ballots cast.
Anderson believes the tactics used against him cost him over 100 votes.
