Vice-president of Netball Jamaica, Simone Forbes, says player development is at the core of the association’s decision to host Trinidad and Tobago for a Youth Summer Invitational.
Forbes says they plan to make it an annual event.
Jamaica’s under-16 team will take on their counterparts from T&T in a best three series at the Stadium courts, from August 24-29.
Forbes says as the number one Netball country in the Americas, it’s part of the their duty to improve the quality of play in the region.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago under-18 team will play the Under-18 teams of Gaynstead High and Denbigh High in a four match round robin tournament.
The event will also feature a three-day Grass Roots Coaching Clinic that will be held in conjunction with the competitive series.
These clinics will target the Coaches of Primary, Prep and High Schools looking to upgrade their skills in basic netball defensive and offensive strategies.
