When Survivor, Novel-T's second album, was released in August, it came eight years after her debut set, Born to Love You.
Having reached No. 1 on the South Florida Reggae Album Chart, the singer credits a meticulous approach to production for the success of Survivor.
"Patience definitely paid off in producing and releasing this album. Haste can sometimes cause you to miss things, or be ill-timed. I believe this was the perfect time," said Novel-T.
Survivor was released by P&N Publishing, a company she operates with Howard Perry, her husband, a trumpeter who also played on the album. Perry and Hopeton Lindo are principal producers of the album which contains six songs which topped the South Florida Reggae Chart. Among them is Keep it Moving, and Love Won't Let Us Wait, a duet with singer Peter G. The singles have cemented the August Town-reared Novel T's reputation as one of South Florida's leading reggae acts.
Survivor has also entered the Jamaica Music Countdown Album Chart, reaching No. 9 in its second week in that list.
"One of the most satisfying aspects of Survivor is that from the day of release, it resonated with people and that's a very good sign," said Novel-T.
