Opposition Junior Spokesperson on Sports, Olivia Rose, has welcomed the government’s announcement that $75 million has been made available for the start of reconstruction work on the National Stadium.
In a statement, Rose said, “The government’s decision to allocate $75 million to start reconstruction of the National Stadium is a positive step towards developing our national sports infrastructure.”
She said “This investment has the potential to boost the economy, through job creation and tourism, while also providing our athletes with a world-class facility to hone their skills and compete at the highest levels.”
However, she’s calling for a detailed plan to outline how the funds will be spent.
