A beach resort in St Croix became the backdrop of an intense gunfire incident on Sunday evening, leaving authorities puzzled as they discovered over 100 spent bullet casings but no reported injuries.
The incident occurred at the Landing Beach Resort in Cane Bay on September 15, at approximately 7:39 pm, when the 911 Emergency Call Centre was inundated with calls from concerned citizens reporting multiple shots fired.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered more than 100 spent casings of various calibres littering the area.
Several abandoned vehicles, riddled with bullet holes were also at the scene.
Despite the apparent ferocity of the shooting, authorities have reported no injuries related to the incident. The Governor Juan F Luis Hospital has not received any patients seeking treatment for gunshot wounds connected to this event.

The police have not released any information about potential suspects or motives behind the shooting.
