“A deliberate attempt to kill the story.”
That’s how Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes described the words of health minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, during his press conference at the Bustamante Hospital for Children on Thursday.
Dr. Dawes was speaking on an Instagram live session on Thursday night.

Dr. Dawes says Dr. Tufton’s words to the public on Thursday regarding the hospital was nothing more than crisis management and blame shifting.
He highlights that the 11-year-old girl in need of surgery is just one of many children who are suffering due to the state of the hospital.
The opposition spokesman says the government is more concerned about image management than resolving the issues affecting the health sector.
Dr. Dawes says the government has made a habit of not properly maintaining equipment being put in health facilities islandwide.
