PNP Caretakers Summoned to Emergency Meeting

Nationwide News understands that PNP General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, has summoned all those it expects to field as candidates to what he describes as an emergency meeting.

Dr. Campbell says the meeting is to discuss plans for the upcoming elections.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Mico University College Lecture Theatre in St. Andrew on Sunday, March 16, at 10AM.

Campbell gave the instruction in an email sent recently.

The email has been obtained by Nationwide News.

Dr. Campbell told comrades that attendance at the meeting is mandatory.

He ended the email by stating ‘Yours in Comradeship’ and telling the comrades to acknowledge receipt of the correspondence.

The move by the PNP General Secretary comes ahead of general elections, which are constitutionally due this year.

However, speculation has been intensifying in political circles whether Prime Minister and JLP Leader, Dr. Andrew Holness, will call the general election a few months early.
