Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes, has vowed to transform the city of Portmore into a wellness hub should the PNP form the next government.
This was one of several proposals put forward by the PNP caretaker for South East St. Catherine, during a town hall meeting in the municipality on Sunday.
The announcements come amid the PNP’s opposition to transitioning Portmore into the country’s 15th parish.
The governing JLP has defended its decision, noting that parish status is solely for the benefit of the people of Portmore.
But the PNP remains resolute, declaring it gerrymandering.
Dr. Dawes says the issue is the final nail in the coffin for the JLP to be booted out of government.
