Opposition Leader Mark Golding says he will overturn the government’s decision to make Portmore Jamaica’s 15th parish, if the People’s National Party wins the next general elections.

Golding’s statement comes after the government used its majority in the House of Representatives on Tuesday to pass the bill intending to make Portmore the newest parish.

Golding says the People’s National Party, PNP, is not against the idea of Portmore becoming a parish. But he’s accusing the Holness administration of misleading the public about the rationale behind the move.
