THREE OF the four games from yesterday’s round of the ISSA-TVJ Super 8 T20 competition were abandoned without a result, while another was truncated on account of rain.

Over at Manchester High, there was to have been a double-header, with Excelsior facing off against St George’s in the early game, before Kingston College (KC) played against Manchester.

The first game, after lengthy delays to start, was reduced to just five overs, with Excelsior running away 10-wicket winners.

Batting first, St George’s scored 12 for six. Excelsior replied with 14 without loss.

KC were firmly against the ropes against Manchester in their game later on.

Reduced to 15 overs, KC struggled with the bat, getting to 59-8.

In reply, Manchester were 31-1 when the skies opened to save the day.

At St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), a double-header St Catherine High School versus Clarendon College and STETHS vs Tacky High School should have been on the cards.

The opener was, at first, reduced to seven overs per side, with St Catherine getting to 52-2 before Clarendon College, well on their way at 25 without loss from three overs, had to watch as the skies opened and brought an end to play.

Later, STETHS batted first in their game against Tacky High and were 134-4 after 19 overs when rain intervened to end the contest.

The ISSA-TVJ SUper 8s continues on Saturday with St Catherine taking on KC and Tacky going up against St George’s at Three Hills Complex, while at Sir P Oval, Clarendon College face Manchester and Excelsior have a tricky encounter against STETHS.
