Multitalented entertainer Dancing Rebel is brimming with excitement after receiving an endorsement from Vybz Kartel for her highly anticipated birthday bash, set for November 29 at Mas Camp in St Andrew.
"I felt extremely awesome to have received an advertisement from Vybz Kartel himself. I mean, who wouldn't? That's the King of Dancehall and he has always been one of my favourite artistes," an excited Rebel told THE STAR.
Kartel's endorsement, delivered in a video uploaded to Instagram, has ignited even greater anticipation. Fans flooded the comments, pledging their attendance, and expressing excitement that the Dancehall King himself is co-signing the event.
Dubbed, 'Rebel's Birthday Celebration', the event is powered by Romeich's Major Marketing and Boom Energy Drink. Rebel emphasised that the entertainers for the show were specifically hand-picked based on "love and support" and included artistes such as Chronic Law, IWaata and 'trending' female dancehall artiste, Khandy. Rebel has promised a host of other surprises as part of the entertainment package.
Rebel said that there was already a strong "buzz of excitement" from supporters going into this year's event, getting the nod from Kartel really re-energised her fans and she anticipates the usual "grand" support.
"There was no change in energy, if you saw the support of the event last year you'll see it was well supported and people who were there were already set to come back and those who missed it were set to come this year. If anything, there was more energy, like the ad added to what we anticipate will be a great event which is always a good thing," said the multi-talented entertainer.
Rebel, reflecting on the success of her past celebrations, said the sixth renewal is her way of expressing gratitude for the unwavering love and support she has received over the years.
"[We] want to ensure that we take it up a notch. This will be the sixth year and every year this party gets bigger. Thanks be to the Almighty, my manager and my supporters for always having my back; on the 29th [of November] I want us to celebrate and have fun, absolutely no negative vibes should be taken in any pockets. Drink responsibly and let's turn up," Rebel charged.
