Former senior superintendent of police, Steve McGregor, has announced his entry into representational politics.
In a video shared by the People’s National Party, PNP, McGregor issued an invitation to the conference where he will be formally presented as caretaker for Central Kingston.
The retired policeman is replacing Lawrence Rowe. He says the party will announce plans for the constituency.

McGregor is campus security manager at the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies.
He retired from the Jamaica Constabulary Force in January last year, after over 40 years of service.
During his time in the force, McGregor worked in all geographic divisions within the Corporate Area, including the then Mobile Reserve, Motorised Patrol, Community Safety and Security Branch and Strategic Operations.
He twice served as head of the St. James police, and headed the Kingston Central, Kingston Western and St. Andrew South police divisions.
At the time of his retirement, he was Operations Officer for Police Area Four.
