President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, says the circumstances the Commonwealth Games Federation, CGF, unavoidably found itself led to the scale down edition of the Games.
A stripped-back programme of 10 sports, announced on Tuesday, includes athletics and swimming as mandatory as well as the likes of track cycling, boxing and gymnastics.

Samuda says he rue the fact the rocket sports will not feature at the Games.
Samuda says he understands that fans and athletes of sports not included were disappointed but state that the 2026 competition would not influence inclusion in future Games.
