The Jamaica Scorpions registered their second victory of the current CG United regional super 50 cricket competition, beating the Windward Islands Volcanoes by 19 runs under the Duckworth/ Lewis method at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad today.
The Scorpions batted first and reached 155 for 4 after 30.1 overs when play was suspended because of rain.
Captain John Campbell 41 and while West Indies player Kirk McKenzie 59 not out, shared in a second wicket stand of 98 against Darrel Cyrus 2 for 51.
When they resumed the Volcanoes were asked to get 205 in 30 overs but were dismissed for 186 in 29.3 overs
Sunil Amris made 59, Shamar Holder 37 and Kavem Hodge 36.
Marquino Mindley ended with 4 for 44 while Odean Smith and Tamarie Redwood bagged two apiece.
The Scorpions next game will be against the Guyana Harpy Eagles on Thursday also at the Queens Park Oval.
Rain has also stopped play at the Brian Lara Stadium with the West Indies Academy 5 without loss after 4 balls against the Guyana Harpy Eagles.
