Scorpions Secure First Innings Points Against Volcanoes

The Jamaica Scorpions have taken a stranglehold on the Windward Islands Volcanoes after two days of their West Indies four day Championships clash at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

When stumps were drawn to close day two, the Scorpions reached 72 for 1, an overall lead of 224 with Kirk McKenzie not out on 36 and Carlos Brown dismissed for 30.

The Scorpions were dismissed for 315 in their first innings, having resumed on 291 for 7.

Jermaine Blackwood who was 101 overnight, went on to make 109, while Jeavor Royal weighed in with 26.

The Volcanoes were then bowled out for 195, giving the Scorpions a 142 run first innings lead.

Blackwood and Odean Smith took 3-wickets each.

Scores in the match so far, Jamaica Scorpions 337 and 72 for 1, Windward Islands Volcanoes 195.

Meanwhile, champions Guyana Harpy Eagles reached 315 for 3 in response to Barbados Pride’s 346 at Providence stadium.

Kevlon Anderson 87 and captain Kemol Savory 95 are the not out batsmen.

And over at Coolidge Cricket stadium, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes reached 134 for 4 in their second innings against the West Indies Academy.

Jewel Andrew made 57 and Shelton Forbes is not out on 38.

Joshua Bishop has so far take 2-wickets.

The Academy men were bowled out for 145 in their first innings.
