National footballers Khadija “Bunny” Shaw and Leon Bailey have been nominated for the Concacaf Women’s Player of the Year and Concacaf Men’s Player of the Year awards respectively.
In May, Shaw was named the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Season and was presented with the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Footballer of the Year trophy.
The Manchester City forward is joined in the women’s category by Mexico’s pair of Jacqueline Ovalle and Charlyn Corra, Melchie Dumorna of Haiti, Sophia Smith of USA and Adriana Leon from Canada.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa Winger, Bailey will go up against Adalberto Carrasquilla of Panama, Canadian pair of Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez of Mexico and Christian Pulisic of the USA for the men’s title.
The nominees have been selected based on performance statistics and the input of football experts.
Voting is now open until August 2 allowing players, coaches, media, and fans to determine the winners.
