Former National coach Theodore Whitmore is back in charge at Mount Pleasant Football Club.
Whitmore who led the club to it’s only National Premier League title in the 2022/23 season and took them back to the final the following season, was sensationally dismissed as the club refused to renew his initial contract.
However, he’s now being asked by the owners of the club to form a Technical team which he will head, to ensure Mount Pleasant continues to compete at the highest level.
This came 24 hours after the entire coaching staff was fired just one game into their reign.
Former head of the Academy Harold Thomas who was promoted to head coach of the senior team following Whitmore’s departure, was in charge this week when Mount Pleasant was beaten 2-nil by Cavalier in their first ever game in the Caribbean Football Union club league.
Since leaving the St. Ann based club, Whitmore was appointed head of football at many time DaCosta Cup champions Cornwall College who will open their season at Catherine Hall against local rivals Herbert Morrison.
Mount Pleasant’s next game will be a clash with Arnett Gardens next Tuesday at Sabina Park in the CFU tournament.
