Badminton is one of several sporting disciplines axed from the 10-sport program for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Field hockey, triathlon, Twenty20 cricket, squash, and diving were also dropped from the games.
The Commonwealth Games program will have athletics, swimming, gymnastics, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowls, along with track cycling and 3×3 basketball.
There will also be integrated para events in six sports: Athletics, swimming, track cycling, weightlifting, bowls and basketball.
President of the Jamaica Badminton Association, Vishwanauth Tolan, has expressed disappointment in the decision to cut badminton.
Tolan says players use the Commonwealth Games to improve their world ranking points.
