Turks & Caicos To Host Landmark Week Of Sporting Excellence

Several sport administrators and athletes will descend on the Turks and Caicos Islands for a meeting of the Commonwealth Games Association, next week.

The week-long activities will begin on October 14 at Sandals Beaches All-Inclusive Resort.

The Commonwealth Games Federation, CGF, will convene the meeting of its Americas Region on October 16.

A day later the organisation will convene a joint meeting of its Americas and Caribbean Regions, with a meeting of the Caribbean Region set for October 18.

The Association of National Olympic Committees of the OECS will convene on October 18 as well.

President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, outlined agenda items that must be satisfied if the meeting is to be considered a success.

Samuda says there will also have to be consideration for Para athletes.

Meanwhile, CANOC ( CAN-OC) will host its 13th Annual Workshop on October 19.

This will be followed in the evening by the Inaugural CANOC Caribbean Sports Awards Gala.

The activities will end with the 22nd Annual General Assembly, on October 20.
