The West Indies Rising Star Under 19 tournament opener between defending champions Jamaica and the Windward Islands ended in a draw at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent and the Grenadines today after rain washed out the day’s play.
The Windwards who resumed their second innings on 27 without loss, added 17 runs this morning before the players were forced off the field for good because of a heavy downpour.
Scores in the game Windward Islands 135 and 44 without loss Jamaica 146 for 8 declared.
The Jamaicans will next be in action starting on Sunday against Trinidad and Tobago at Park Hill in Conarie.
The game between the Leeward Islands and Guyana at Park Hill also ended in a draw, no play was possible on the final day, the Leewards were set to resume on 84 for 2 replying to Guyana’s 111 all out.
Over at Sion Hill, Barbados 200 for declared and Trinidad and Tobago 51 for 3 also had to settle for a share of the points in a drawn game
