The member of parliament, MP, for West Portland, Daryl Vaz, says he’s confident there’ll be no change in the leadership in the parish after the next general election.
This after controversial attorney-at-law, Isat Buchanan was named by the People’s National Party, PNP, as it’s caretaker in East Portland, the constituency represented in parliament by Vaz’s wife, Ann Marie.
Daryl Vaz says he has contacted his lawyers to take action against the PNP over what he says is an attempt to defame him.
In a statement on Thursday defending Buchanan’s selection, the PNP said the lack of scrutiny from the government about the revocation and subsequent reinstatement of Daryl Vaz’s visas highlights a troubling double standard.
Vaz says there are no skeletons in his closet.
