Williams Pledges to Build on Mike Henry’s Legacy if Elected Central Clarendon MP

6 days ago 8

The Jamaica Labour Party’s Delroy Williams has vowed to build on the legacy of Mike Henry should he be elected the next member of parliament for Central Clarendon.

Williams was recommended to be the party’s standard-bearer in Central Clarendon on Tuesday ahead of the next general election.

Mike Henry has indicated he will not be seeking re-election. He has been at the helm of the constituency since 1980.

Williams was the only person who applied to fill the vacancy created by Henry’s declaration.

Initially, it was thought that May Pen’s mayor, Joel Williams, would challenge Delroy Williams for the position. Mayor Williams was endorsed by Mike Henry. But it’s understood Mayor Williams stood down after conciliatory talks with the party.

Delroy Williams says there’s no beef between himself and Joel Williams.
