Wolmer's Boys' School and Jamaica College (JC) are the respective leaders of Group One and Group Two of the ISSA Urban Area Under-19 schoolboys table tennis competition.
Wolmer's completed their fixtures yesterday with a crushing 4-1 victory over St. Mary's College, which helped them to a perfect win record and the top of Group One with maximum 18 points.
The Heroes Circle-based Wolmer's are followed by defending champions Kingston College (KC) with 16 points, as St. Jago High, St. Mary's and Excelsior High are tied on 10 points each. Ascot High are in the cellar position on six points.
In Group Two, JC lead with maximum 14 points ahead of Campion and Jonathan Grant High on 11 points each, with Calabar on eight and Meadowbrook on six.
In the ISSA Urban Area Under-16 competition, KC lead Grup One with maximum 14 points and are followed by champions Wolmer's on 12, Mona on nine, Excelsior on seven and Innswood on two.
Hillel lead Group Two on nine points. They are followed by JC on eight, Campion on seven and Jonathan Grant on six.
Meanwhile, in other matches played in the Under-19 competition yesterday, Calabar edged Jonathan Grant 3-2, Campion whipped Meadowbrook 4-1 and St. Jago trounced Excelsior 4-1. In the Under-16 category, KC had a default win over Innswood.
Today, two matches will be played in the ISSA Urban Area Under-19 schoolgirls table tennis competition. St Jago will host St. Andrew and Campion entertain Wolmer’s Girls School.
