Edgewater Wolverines beat Papine Kings 81-72 in game three of the GK-ONE/SDF Howard McCatty Community Basketball League, best-of-three final at the Stadium Courts, Monday night.
The Wolverines created history by becoming the first team from Portmore to win the title after claiming the series 2-1.
Kenardo Smith of the Wolverines was named finals MVP for his 26 points and 16 rebounds, while Jumario Grant scored 20 and 12 rebounds.
Alex Levy scored 31 points and 10 rebounds in the Kings’ losing effort.
Malik Anderson of Grants Pen Giants was named League MVP, Marcus Higgs from Police took the top shooter title, while Majesty Gardens Legends’ David Thomas was the top rebounder.
