XLCR Closing in Decisive Victory in Spaulding Cup

Grace Shield Champions Excelsior High were closing in on a decisive victory over Grace Headley Cup winners Manchester High late on the second day of their three day Spalding Cup playoff at Melbourne.

Set 403 to win Manchester High at sportstime reached 183 for 8, still 219 runs behind. Pajay Nelson was dismissed a short while ago for 69.

Earlier Excelsior who resumed their second innings this morning on 82 for 4, went on to make 255 all out for an overall lead of 402.

Captain Michael Clarke top scored with 57 and he got good support from Tarique Forbes 39, Jamere Dailey 36 and David Dewar 32.

Captain Brian Barnes bagged 4 for 56 bowling for Manchester while Barrington Simpson weighed in with 3 for 48 and Matthew Morgan 2 for 68
