Fast-rising dancehall artiste Yanique Bosslady has many reasons to be beaming with confidence considering the fact that she has not only found a buzzing song but has created a woman empowerment movement. The catchy song entitled “Nuh Short A Nutten” has become an underground woman empowerment anthem with selectors such as Boom Boom and several others locally and internationally using it as an essential part of their sets.
“The girls dem get mad when it play and the selectors dem a give me di strength. The feedback and buzz is crazy right now. Di woman dem seh a fi dem song and the man dem love it because they enjoy seeing how the ladies react to it” stated Yanique Bosslady.
Born Yanneek Robinson, the St. Elizabeth native moved to Portmore St. Catherine, at age 14 and this transition aided her musical development as she started rubbing shoulders with other young talents who identified her extraordinary talent from early on. Fast forward to 2024, Yanique Bosslady is within touching distance to her musical goals and according to the artiste she believes her decision to promote body positivity is aiding her rapid rise.
“As a confident woman, I decided to sing about the wonderful body part that fadda God blessed me with and I knew all women who were also blessed with the good good would be able to relate and so said so done. The song a bun up road as expected” stated Yanique Bosslady.
