The NCB Foundation says 28 Jamaicans benefited from its 2024 Grant a Wish programme.

The 2024 programme featured five nomination categories.

These were charities, community heroes, persons with disabilities, medical assistance, and an open category for nominees outside these areas.

The NCB Foundation says with close to 700,000 public votes, the overwhelming response underscored Jamaica’s commitment to uplifting its own and in making a difference.

Amongst the beneficiaries was Faylicia Gardner, a teacher from Annotto Bay High School, who received $500,000 to purchase a scooter.

Ms Gardner shared that she was grateful to be chosen as a recipient. The educator says as a person with a disability, she has a scooter, but noted that it was worn out.

Gardner says as a teacher, she must move around a lot from classroom to classroom and believes the new scooter will assist her in continuing to do her work without any limitation.

The NCB Foundation says the programme overall provided $15 million in opportunities to 62 individuals and organisations.
