Nine people were killed and at least 300 injured as a result of the explosions targeting walkie-talkies across Lebanon on Wednesday afternoon.
This is in addition to the 12 killed on Tuesday, with another 3,000 injured.
Lebanon has accused Israel of using sophisticated technology to detonate the devices, primarily used by Hezbollah members.
The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, says he’s deeply alarmed by reports of the explosions. He’s urging all concerned actors to exercise maximum restraint to avert any further escalation.
Guterres also urges the parties to immediately return to a cessation of hostilities to restore stability.
The UN Security Council will meet on Friday to discuss the wave of device explosions across Lebanon targeting Hezbollah.
