American jockey, Arnaldo Bocachica, will bring some international flavour to the two-day Winston Griffiths Classics at Caymanas Park, starting on Saturday.
The event will Feature 19-races – nine on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.
Racing secretary, Denzil Miller, says Bocachica was the one who made the initial contact.
Miller says Bocachica’s participation encouraged the organisers to include a jockey championships.
He says six racer were assigned to be a part of the championships – three on Saturday and three on Sunday. Six team of two riders each will participate over the two days.
Miller says the teams were named after Griffiths’ favourite horses.
The teams will be competing for a total purse of $800,000.
