Political analyst, Lloyd B. Smith, believes that the optics of the People’s National Party’s, PNP, 86th annual conference indicated that the party is now united behind Mark Golding.

Smith believes Sunday’s conference was well planned and executed.

Smith also believes the PNP will not see any significant fall-out from the attendance of dancehall star Vybz Kartel at the conference.

Meanwhile, Mr Smith believes that the PNP may be gaining ground in Manchester Central.

Manchester Central is now being represented by the Jamaica Labour Party’s Rhoda-Moy Crawford after she dethroned political heavyweight Peter Bunting in the 2020 general election.

However, for Mr Smith, the fact that influential Manchester based businessman Kenneth “Skeng Don” Black was thanked at the PNP conference for helping in the local government elections is an indication that the PNP could be making up lost ground.
