Reggae Boyz head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson has named the 23-man squad for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League semi-finals, with Jamaica scheduled to face hosts the United States of America next Thursday in Arlington, Texas.

In a press conference today at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) headquarters, Hallgrímsson named Kaheim Dixon, Bailey Cadamarteri and Shaquan Davis full international selections for the Reggae Boyz.

However, in-form winger Leon Bailey and forward Trivante Stewart are absent from Hallgrimsson’s squad.

Hallgrímsson explained the players’ absence was because of internal disciplinary issues. Bailey and Stewart had broken the team’s curfew and were not selected.

Hallgrímsson will also be without prolific winger Demarai Gray and striker Shamar Nicholson, who are both suspended for the fixture.

Gray has been in form for the Reggae Boyz with three goals and one assist in his five appearances in Jamaica’s Nations League campaign, while Nicholson scored three goals over the two legs against Canada in the quarter-finals.

Ethan Pinnock will also be missing from action as the defender sustained an ankle injury in February while playing for his club Brentford FC in the English Premier League.

Amari’i Bell will also be absent because of injury, with the player having undergone hamstring surgery recently.

Hallgrímsson said at this time, Bell will also be doubtful for Jamaica’s World Cup qualifiers in June and the Copa America.
