Cavalier Carrying Jamaican Hopes in CFU Club Championships

National champions Cavalier will be the only Jamaican team in the CFU Club Championship as the group stages ended on Thursday.

Cavalier topped group A with nine points after coming from behind to beat Arnett Gardens 4-1 at the National Stadium.

Shai Smith gave Arnett the lead on nine minutes, but Shaquille Stein equalised for Cavalier before Jalmaro Calvin, with a brace, and Dwayne Atkinson added further goals to complete the victory.

At Sabina Park, Mount Pleasant Academy, who needed a victory to advance to the semifinals, lost 2-0 to Real Hope of Haiti.

The semifinal line-up will now have Cavalier facing Moca of the Dominican Republic while Real Hope will battle the other team from the Dom Rep, Cibao.
