CDB Projects 2.5% Regional Growth for 2025

The Caribbean Development Bank, CDB, projects regional economic growth of 2.5 per cent in 2025.

This excludes Guyana, where overall growth is projected to reach 4.6 per cent when its oil-driven expansion is factored in.

Economic expansion in 2025 is expected to be driven by continued strength in tourism and construction.

Despite the steady outlook, CDB’s director of economics, Ian Durant, cautions that challenges such as geopolitical tensions, climate risks, and the inability to execute critical infrastructure projects in a timely manner could impact economic performance.

He was addressing the bank’s annual news conference on Wednesday.
