KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC):
THE DYNAMIC Jamaican racing duo of Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell put in a workmanlike performance while representing Avia W&S Motorsport, as they faced a bittersweet weekend at the fifth race of the ADAC GT4 Germany series.
Driving their trusty number 32 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Club Sport, the Reggae Racers showed grit and determination across both races at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Styria.
After qualifying in ninth place in race one, the pair started strong, but eventually finished 14th overall in a fiercely competitive field.
However, Race 2 saw a much more promising performance as Gore and Summerbell qualified in fourth place and delivered an impressive drive to finish just off the podium in 5th.
The weekend’s top honours went to Jan Marschalkowski and Philipp Gogollok from Eastside Motorsport, who took victory and secured their team’s first win.
Meanwhile, Finn Zulauf and Josef Knopp from Avia W&S Motorsport, driving another Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, claimed second place.
The Reggae Racers will now shift their focus to the sixth and final race of the season set to take place at Hockenheim, Germany, from October 18-20.
The Avia W&S Motorsports team are the defending champions in the ADAC GT4 Series, and are second in the team ranking with 179 points, 11 behind leaders Hofor Racing.
