President General of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union, BITU, Senator Kavan Gayle, says calls from politicians for public servants to resign serve no useful purpose.
Senator Gayle is reacting to the call by the PNP Patriots for Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dunstan Bryan and Chief Medical Officer, Jacquiline Bissasor McKenzie to vacate their posts.
The Patriots say both officials have proven to be woefully out of touch with the state of healthcare in Jamaica and have failed to adequately perform their duties.
According to Senator Gayle, the work of public servants ought not to be hamstrung by the abusive and negative chatter of those on the political hustings.
