Newly appointed coach of the national senior netball team Sasher-Gaye Henry says she’s encouraged by what she’s seen so far in the early stages of her reign.
The 44-year-old Henry was selected ahead of two other applicants for the head coaching job in January following the departure of Connie Francis who left after taking the team to Bronze at the last world championships.
Henry signed a four year deal with Netball Jamaica which will take the team to the next world championship among other major assignments such as the Commonwealth Games.
Henry was co-coach of the team with Marvette Anderson in 2018 and told Nationwide Sports that she’s better prepared this time around to handle the job.
Henry says the early training sessions with the local based players have been more about strength and conditioning and that general fitness.
The G.C Foster College lecturer says she wants to put her own stamp on the team but says she’s also prepared to assess the situation so as not to make un-necessary changes.
