Holness: Country Heading In The Right Direction

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has reacted to the Nationwide Bluedot Polls powered by Total Tools.

He says the country is heading in the right direction under his administration.

Only Monday the Nationwide/Bluedot polls revealed that 42 percent of Jamaicans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction under his leadership.

In reacting on Tuesday, he said the upcoming budget will have no net new taxes and that’s another indication that under his watch Jamaica is heading in the right direction.

The Bluedot pollsters asked 1,500 registered voters whether the country was headed in the right or wrong direction.

Of that figure, 42 percent said wrong direction, 32 percent said right direction , and 26 percent were unsure.

The poll results were published on Monday.

And reacting today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness defended his administration’s stewardship of the economy.

He’s promised the Jamaican people that the upcoming budget will have no new taxes.

Prime Minister Holness says the country’s economic growth is also reflective of a prosperous Jamaica.

Dr. Holness also noted that the reduction in murders is another indication of the country moving in the right path under his leadership.
