Newly-appointed Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator Dana Morris Dixon, is rejecting a claim from the Opposition that Western Portland Member of Parliament Daryl Vaz breached the privacy of Opposition Leader Mark Golding.
Mr. Vaz revealed in an interview on Cliff Hughes Online that Mark Golding chose to obtain a Jamaican passport in 2011. Mr. Golding was 46-years-old at the time.
PNP Spokesperson on Information and Public Communication, Nekeisha Burchell, says Mr. Vaz committed a grave breach of privacy to obtain the information.
Speaking Wednesday morning at the post-Cabinet press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister, Minister Morris-Dixon rejected this.
Senator Morris Dixon says Minister Vaz played a key role in the crafting of the Data Protection Act. She says this shows that he would not be inclined to breach an individual’s privacy.
