Jamaica Off The Mark in WI Rising Stars U15 Cricket

Jamaica beat Guyana by seven wickets on Thursday at the Antigua Recreation Ground to register their first victory at the West Indies Rising Stars Under 15 Cricket Tournament.

After bowling out the Guyanese for 104 in 28.1 overs, the young Jamaicans raced to 106 for 3 in 29 overs

Jayden Shawn led the way with 38 and Tesfah Ward 25.

Earlier Andrew Lloyd 4 for 14 and two wickets each from Eckoney Robinson and Zachary Buchanan helped dismissed Guyana for 104 28.1 overs

The Jamaicans who lost their opening game to Barbados, will next be in action on Saturday against Leeward Islands at Liberta Sports Club.

In other games champions Barbados crushed the Leewards by 170 runs at North Sound.

Barbados made 275 all out in 49.5 overs …. Kelani Clarke 86, Justin Parris 72 and Seth Smith 55 were the top scorers against William Pitman 6 for 41.

The Leewards were then skittled out for 105 in 37 overs….Clayvaunte Powell got more than half their runs, he was the only man into double figures with 64.

While over at Liberta Trinidad and Tobago 124 for 3 beat the Windward Islands 123 all out by 7 wickets.
