MISSING FROM the list of athletes to the World Relays in the Bahamas in May are the names of some of the most beloved sprinters over the years.

However, in their place are a cadre of up-and-coming showstoppers as the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) released its list of participants yesterday.

Of note is the women’s 4x100-metre team, which includes Kemba Nelson and Alana Reid.

Reid, the national junior record holder, will be making her first senior team.

The team does boast some experience though, with Natasha Morrison making the trip as well.

There is also some blooding to take place among Jamaica’s men’s sprinters with Javorne Dunkley and Bryan Levell joining Ackeem Blake, and Ryiem Forde.

The same is true for the men on the 400-metre relay team, which boasts youngsters like Malik James-King and Roshawn Clarke.
