JFF Presidential Candidate Raises Voters List Concern Ahead of Election

7 months ago 24

With just three days to go before the JFF elections, one of the candidates for president, Raymond Anderson, says his campaign is yet to see the voters list.

Anderson told Nationwide Sports that under the constitution the list should have been presented to them at least four days before the election.

Anderson, a vice president of the federation, says they were promised the list on Thursday but, according to him, nothing has reached him or any member of his campaign up to 11:40 Friday morning.

However, general secretary of the JFF, Dennis Chung, says the list was sent to all parties Friday morning.

Meanwhile, Anderson says the JFF has also failed to honour its responsibility of securing accommodation for the delegates.

Anderson says this has now forced him into an uncomfortable position of having to travel to Negril from Kingston on the morning of the election.

Fifty-six delegates are scheduled to vote for a new JFF president on Sunday at the Royalton Hotel in Negril where Anderson is challenging incumbent Michael Ricketts for local football’s top job.
