The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, has cited fresh evidence of what it says is partisan disbursement of resources by the Andrew Swaby-led Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, members of the JLP’s communication task force highlighted leaked WhatsApp messages, which they suggest prove their claim.
The JLP also slammed PNP President, Mark Golding, for attempting to brush aside the scandal.

As the scandal surrounding the KSAMC deepens, Government Senator, Marlon Morgan, says the party has taken note of leaked messages from a senior administrative member in the office of Kingston’s Mayor, Andrew Swaby.
The JLP alleges that in these messages the staffer specifically called on a PNP caretaker to identify the political affiliation of individuals seeking work and assistance from the municipality.
Mr. Morgan says this is a blatant and concerning act of bias.
The messages were allegedly sent on October 30, 2024, at 11:24 AM.
Speaking at last week’s KSAMC Monthly meeting, Mayor Swaby denied allegations that funds from the KSAMC were distributed to PNP political representatives last December.
According to Mayor Swaby, the funds were not from the KSAMC or any other public source but were raised privately through PNP-led initiatives and efforts.
However, Mr. Morgan says the new information brings into question Mayor Swaby’s prior claims.
PNP President, Mark Golding, has dismissed the scandal as much ado about nothing.
But Mr. Morgan says the response from Mr. Golding is unsatisfactory and lacking in accountability.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for West Rural St. Andrew, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, called on PNP President Mark Golding to answer specific questions regarding the alleged operations of a PNP operative in her constituency.
